At last night’s meeting of the Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency Board, Directors authorized staff to initiate procedures for a 5 percent cost of living increase from $115 to $122 to their per diems; that item passed 4-1 with director Dennis Staley opposed. In other business the board authorized management to prepare two applications for hazard mitigation grants; one for storm water capture and the second to enclose the District’s pump and well block buildings for security and climate control. And finally, the board approved a resolution establishing an and Injury and Illness Prevention Program; the Agency has been recognized for an excellent safety record and history of workers’ compensation claims.
