BIGHORN DESERT-VIEW WATER ASSESSES BUILDING ON LAND WITH HAULED WATER

A busy evening awaits directors at the Bighorn Desert View Water Agency. Tonight’s 6 p.m. regular meeting will be preceded by a 5 p.m. special closed session meeting. Reporter Mike Lipsitz has details…
Water agency directors meet at 5 p.m. for a closed session general manager evaluation then at 6 p.m. convene the regular monthly meeting. On that agenda is a vote likely in support of a state assembly bill that would allow building permits on sites where the sole water source is from a licensed, permitted water hauler or vendor. Also tonight, board will consider the general manager’s employment contract, look at a cost-of-living-adjustment to their own contracts, and discuss moving board elections to be in line with the regular statewide elections. It all happens at the agency’s board meeting office under the old water tower on Cherokee Trail in Landers.
