The Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency met last night in regular session. Reporter Mike Lipsitz was there for a board appointment and a presentation…
At last night’s meeting of the Bighorn Desert View Water Agency, the board declared a vacancy as a result of Director David Larson’s resignation as he is moving out of the district. The board opted to fill Larson’s seat by appointment and is expected to conduct interviews at the regular September meeting. And in an informational presentation, the board heard from Seth Shteir of the National Parks Conservation Association on the Cadiz Valley Water Project. Shteir says that Cadiz is trying to circumvent a National Environmental Policy Act Review because, he claims, of the project’s negative impact to county ground water, air quality, and the Mojave National Preserve.
