BIGHORN-DESERT VIEW WATER AGENCY MEETS TONIGHT

A cost-of-living increase is just one item on tonight’s agenda for the Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency Board of Directors. Assignment reporter Mike Lipsitz says the Board will also hear an update on adding Landers residents to the district’s service area…
Prior to tonight’s regular meeting of the Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency, Directors will convene a special 5 p.m. open meeting to review parliamentary procedure and protocol. Then at 6 p.m. the board gets down to business with a public hearing on director’s per diem compensation after which the board may vote on whether not to give themselves a 5 percent cost of living increase. Also tonight the board will receive and file a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the last fiscal year. This is the second year in a row for the Agency to earn this distinction. The board will also get an update on the plan to provide service to Landers residents now served by County Special Districts, and get updates on the Integrated Regional Water Management Plan and the Hazard Mitigation Plan. It all happens on Cherokee Trail under the old water tower in Landers.
