An ambitious agenda is planned for tonight’s (June 23) 6 p.m. special meeting of the Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency board in Landers, while in Joshua Tree, the Joshua Basin Water District will convene its own special meeting starting at 5:30 p.m. Here’s reporter Mike Lipsitz with highlights…
In addition to considering the resignation of long-time Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency director Mike McBride, the board will hear results of a benchmark salary survey, consider moderate cost-of-living salary increases for non-exempt employees, conduct a public budget workshop, and fix and adopt the agency budget for the next fiscal year.
At its special meeting, the Joshua Basin Water District will hold a public hearing on standby charges for fiscal 2022. The public is invited to participate in either meeting remotely via the Zoom platform.
