At last night’s regular board meeting of the Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency, directors received and filed the agency’s financial audit for fiscal year ending June 2017. A representative from the agency’s independent audit firm described the accounting records as being in excellent condition, maintained to the very highest standard without exception. In other actions, the board approved purchase of a previously budgeted 2018 Dodge Ram 4×4 pick-up. Concerning the board’s standing on the upcoming vote by Flamingo Heights property owners on whether or not to increase road maintenance fees there, directors opted to neither support nor oppose the County’s proposed rate hike as the public agency is exempt from paying property tax and therefore the fee.
