Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency Board of Directors holds the regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m. tonight. On the agenda is a public hearing followed, by consideration of a 5 percent cost of living increase in director’s per diem compensation to $116, limited to 10 paid days per month. Also tonight, the board will consider a plan authorizing the agency to seek grant funds for four projects aimed at providing and protecting drinking water to its customers including an emergency power plan, pipeline improvements, and an interconnection plan with neighboring systems. And in other actions, the board will consider purchase of a backhoe, to be funded with monies to come from the anticipated W1 reserve account when the County transfers that business on June 30. It all happens at the agency’s board meeting office under the old water tower on Cherokee Trail in Landers.
