BIGHORN DESERT VIEW WATER AGENCY AUDIT SHOWS BUDGET SURPLUS

At last night’s marathon meeting of the Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency’s board in Landers, directors received and filed an independent financial audit for fiscal  2017-2018. The audit showed the agency ended the fiscal year some $300,000 in the black. The money will go into the water agency’s capital improvements fund. Also last night, the board approved a resolution authorizing a change in dental coverage carriers; the change is expected to save more than $1,800 in the first year. And for the agency’s innovative student loan repayment assistance perk, the board directed management to bring the proposal back after adjustments are made.
