The price for most new meter installations and service connections in Landers is about to go up and down. Reporter Mike Lipsitz has the details on what will be a net gain for new customers…

At tonight’s regular 6 p.m. monthly meeting of the Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency, the Board of Directors is expected to increase the basic facilities fee for a new one-inch line by $200 to $4,800, while the charge for installation of that line will go down by $415 to $1,370 due to use of new, lower-cost construction materials. The net result is that most new one-inch meter installations and the connection will cost about $200 less. Also tonight, the board is expected increase various delinquent-related fees which haven’t been adjusted since 2013. Those items and others will follow reports from directors and management. It all happens at the agency’s board meeting office under the old water tower on Cherokee Trail in Landers.
