The Twentynine Palms High School boys/girls varsity tennis teams hosted the Banning Broncos yesterday (March 24), for their second game of the season. Coach Bill Shay said the Wildcat Boys beat the Broncos 8 to 1, while the Ladycats swept the broncos 9 to 0.
In doubles action, the Wildcat Boys double teams of Troy Silva/Titus Bosch, Nhan Nguyen/Daniel Huynh, and Jonray Mendoza/Brayden Chambers swept the Lions in all three matches.
The Wildcat boys Troy Silva, Titus Bosch, Jonray Mendoza, Brayden Chambers and Daniel Huynh each won their singles match.
In doubles action, the Ladycat double teams of Mariah Bannerjee/Madi Soster, Emily Stuckey/Isabel Plummer, and Anaid Montero/Makenna Whitfield swept the Lions in all three doubles matches.
In singles action, Mariah Banerjee, Anaid Montero, Dhalia Vamstad, Emily Stuckey, Danesa Rife, and Mackenna Whitfield each won their singles game.
Shay said, “The Wildcats boys and Ladycats did a fantastic job and are excited for the upcoming season.”
The Wildcats travel to Coachella Valley on Monday and host Desert Mirage on Wednesday.
