Respect today to a long-time competitor to Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms Football teams. Big Bear football coach Dave Griffiths, 49, announced Thursday he has stepped down as head coach after 21 years. The search for Griffiths’ replacement has not yet begun. Griffiths said he will continue to teach and serve as athletic director at Big Bear. Griffiths compiled a 156-85-1 record, including 11 league titles and two CIF-SS championships (2006 and 2017). Griffiths said his time coaching at Big Bear has been a joy.
