According to witnesses at the scene, the bike and the truck did not collide, or if they did, it was very lightly, as neither the bike nor the truck had damage. Deputies believe the bicyclist saw the truck and braked hard, and fell in the eastbound lanes of Highway 62. He was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs. The driver of the truck was not cited.
