BICYCLING UNDER THE INFLUENCE IN TWENTYNINE PALMS

Bicycling under the influence? A Twentynine Palms man discovered Monday afternoon that California laws against driving under the influence also apply to bicycling under the influence. According to a Sheriff’s report, Raymond Espinoza, 39, was riding his bicycle on Aztec Avenue near Twentynine Palms Junior High School shortly before 3 p.m. Witnesses reported that Espinoza’s bike hit a rock and he fell off, hit his head, and was briefly unconscious. After an investigation, Raymond Espinoza was arrested for bicycling while under the influence, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, cited and released.
