Two time Olympian cyclist Victor Vicente is hosting another local bike ride in the Hi-Desert, following today’s 8:30 am off-road ride in Section 6 in Joshua Tree. Next Saturday, March 23, he will lead a 60-mile road ride in Joshua Tree National Park. Meet at Cap Rock parking lot in the park at 7:30 a.m. Victor Vicente is a former national champion road cyclist and is credited with being one of the early inventors of mountain biking. Victor Vicente is honored in both the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame and the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame. These local rides are part of Vincente’s Year of the Outlaw Tour, honoring environmental clean up efforts and his passion for cycling.
