BICYCLE RIDING IN JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK

There are lots of ways to explore our spectacular backyard, the Joshua Tree National Park. Park Ranger Pam Tripp says on a bicycle is one good way….
With almost 200 miles of road, Joshua Tree National Park is a beautiful and peaceful area to ride a bicycle. Whether doing a long or short ride through the park, this can be a quiet time that allows thoughts to process and gives us a chance to unstress. And what better way to exercise than in a scenic national park? At present there are no trails that bicycles are allowed on, so please observe the park rules and stay off trails, including historic road trails. But, for those wishing to have a mountain biking-type experience, there are many miles of dirt roads that provide rugged terrain and continuing scenic beauty. For safety’s sake, remember to ride on the right hand side of the road, wear a helmet, be aware of other visitors on the road, and ride single file when riding with friends. For information on bicycling in the park, call us at 760-367-5500.
