Many scammers will create fake dating profiles to build online relationships with victims. It’s so easy to pretend to be someone you’re not while sitting behind a computer. You may believe you’ve met “the one” but beware if they start to claim they’re in financial trouble and need your help. Or if they ask you to fund their travel so they can meet you. It’s never a good idea to send money to anyone you haven’t met, no matter what your perceived relationship with them may be. While many people on dating sites are legitimately looking for love others are looking to capitalize on the good will of loving people.
