Behind on your water bill? JBWD extends Low-Income assistance into Spring of 2024

The Joshua Basin Water District is extending their Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program, or LIHWAP – into spring of 2024.

The program helps Joshua Basin Water District customers who have a past due bill – since its beginning in 2022 the program has saved Morongo Basin residents over $87,000, and $48,000 this year alone.

The Water District will be working with the Community Action Partnership San Bernardino County (CAPSBC) to help residents apply for the program.

If you have yet to apply, you can join the next LIHWAP meeting on November 16, starting at 10 a.m. and going until 3PM. Bring your current water bill, ID, and all current household income, that includes state and federal assistance.

The meeting will be at Joshua Basin Water District’s board room at 61750 Chollita Road in Joshua Tree.
