Many students are interested in being a publicist. I interviewed Ariella Roberts, director/ worldwide marketing for the company Warner Bros. She suggests for schooling, a person should get a BA degree in public relations. Major schools offering this including schools in Los Angela’s, New York, Chicago etc. She also says to get into the field you must look into networking, events and mixers or becoming an assistant in job placements. In addition she suggests that you should expect to never be able to get a desired dream job immediately therefore, you will begin as an assistant, writer, copy editor and such. The important thing is to be willing and devoted to becoming the top notch publicist who earns anywhere from $30,000 – $200,000 depending on your business you are trying go to publicize.
