Beauty and The Beast—that’s the name of a new photography exhibit at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum in Yucca Valley. Reporter Mike Lipsitz says this time, neither beauty nor the beast have anything to do with Disney…
Subtitled “California Wildflowers and Climate Change,” the display of more than 45 landscape photographs by two Bay Area-based photographers, Rob Badger and Nita Winter, is a visual survey of California’s diverse and delicately-balanced ecosystems. It reveals the effects of global warming and other human impacts on our native plants. A large, colorful map of the state’s diverse botanical regions and a description of each was co-created with the California Native Plant Society. “Beauty and The Beast:
California Wildflowers and Climate Change” runs through March 9. The Hi-Desert Nature Museum is located in the Yucca Valley Community Center Complex.
