Joshua Tree National Park rangers are expecting this spring to be very busy in the park. Ernest Figueroa says visitors should be flexible in their plans when visiting the park…
The number of visitors to Joshua Tree National Park last year were up 10 to 20 percent, with most people going on the weekends. Park staff notes that the most crowded days in the Joshua Tree National Park will be every weekend in the spring. As car traffic becomes a problem, be flexible and consider changing your hiking plans to include wherever you find parking. Do not drive over a curb to create a new parking space. Reservations can be made for one of the 350 campsites in the park at recreation.gov. Or, take advantage of open camping areas on public lands adjacent to the park and managed by the Bureau of Land Management, as well as local private RV parks.
