The 22nd annual Basin Wide Foundation’s awards dinner honors community members who have given of themselves to serve the Morongo Basin. The Lifetime Achievement award went to Ellin Loveless, who has given more than 50 years of dedicated service to the Morongo Basin community. Walter Combs of the Pacific Clinics was honored with the Above and Beyond award. Robin Schlosser of Reach Out Morongo Basin received the President’s Award. The Cultural Contributor award went to Yucca Valley High School music director Bill Barrett. The Way Station was named Non-Profit of the Year. Supportive Business of the Year is Hi-Desert Air, owned by Lance and Kari Cody. Paul Hoffman was named Volunteer of the Year for his work as president of the Joshua Tree Rotary Club and Mara’s Christmas Wish. Whitney Nemeth of the Boys and Girls Club of the Hi-Desert was honored as Youth Volunteer of the Year. And Fire Station 41 in Yucca Valley received the Together We Can Award.
