Sky’s the Limit Observatory and Nature Center is offering a basic astronomy class on Friday, March 29. Students will receive an overview of basic astronomy topics, and travel to Sky’s the Limit, to experience the campus under the stars and get some hands-on experience with a variety of telescopes. Participants will receive a star chart and moon map, and will qualify as a volunteer docent upon completion of the class, able to operate Sky’s the Limit telescopes during Star Parties. The class fee is $15 and includes a chance to win a telescope. The class is set for 7:15 p.m. in the Patriotic Hall on Luckie Avenue in Twentynine Palms and is open to those age 12 and older. Register by March 22 by calling 760-490-9561.
