A mother and her son were arrested Tuesday morning, after a threat with a baseball bat. Sheriff’s reports say Esther Harris, 45, and John Gonzalez, 22, went to a home in the 2900 block of Star Lane in Yucca Valley about 3 a.m. to get Harris’s vehicle. Harris and Gonzalez bypassed a locked gate to enter the property, then confronted the residents when they couldn’t find the vehicle. Harris allegedly assaulted two people inside the home; residents said Gonzalez struck one with a baseball bat. The two victims, and three other residents, pushed Gonzalez and Harris out the door where they fled in a vehicle. Esther Harris and John Gonzalez were arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with bail set at $50,000.
