On one of the hottest days this summer, the United Methodist Church of Twentynine Palms will offer a cool treat: it’s a 20-foot banana split. In addition, some clothing will be available for children entering school in kindergarten through sixth grades. It all happens Saturday, August 15, from 2 to 3 p.m., at the church, 6250 Mesquite Springs Road in Twentynine Palms.
