There will be a free distribution of backpacks with school supplies for the Morongo Basin’s homeless and low-income students. The give-away will be held Friday, August 14, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Sportsman’s Club in Joshua Tree. The distribution will be a drive-through event.
