Vaccines required for school-age children include tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, polio, measles, mumps, rubella and chicken pox. The Morongo Basin Healthcare District’s Community Health Center will hold an immunization clinic in conjunction with the school district’s backpack give-away on Friday, August 10. The school district will have two buses available from 9 a.m. to noon to shuttle parents and their children to the health center where the students can be immunized in time for the first day of school. The clinic will also be open for drop-ins. The clinic is located at 58375 29 Palms Highway, Suite B, in Yucca Valley. For more information, call 760-910-7685.
