A bobcat kitten that was found having a chicken dinner was turned over to Twentynine Palms Animal Control Monday. The chickens’ owner saw the female kitten and her mother hanging around the chicken coop near Rainier Road and Mesa Verde for more than a week. About midnight Monday, the chickens’ owner heard a ruckus in the coop and went out to find the kitten inside the coop and the mother outside. The mother got spooked and ran up a utility pole and was electrocuted by the transformer. The 3-month-old kitten was captured by throwing a fishing net over her and stored in a dog crate overnight. She was brought to Animal Control Monday. She will be turned over to the Living Desert in Palm Desert until she is old enough to be returned to the wild.
