After hitting a female server at Awe Bar in Yucca Valley, a man threatened to kill the bar’s bouncers with a makeshift wooden stake on Saturday night (November 5). Just before midnight, a Sheriff’s report says that Dylan Hoey, a 24 year-old resident of Santa Margarita, hit a female server.
The bar’s security immediately escorted Hoey out of the bar by his shoulders, at which point he grabbed a pointed piece of wood from a gate. Deputies say that Hoey attempted to stab the security staff with the wood, and that he threatened to kill them. The security team was able to get the weapon away from Hoey and wrestle him to the ground, where they held him until deputies arrived.
Hoey sustained injuries from the incident, and was initially transferred to High Desert Medical Center, before being booked at Morongo Basin Jail. The victim declined medical attention at the scene. Dylan Hoey was arrested for suspicion of Assault with a Deadly Weapon and making Criminal Threats, and he is currently out on $50,000 bail.
