Twentynine Palms Rotary continues tradition of holiday book giveaway

Members of the Twentynine Palms Rotary Club are continuing a long tradition of giving books to students at local elementary schools for Christmas. At a recent meeting Rotarians stamped 525 specially selected books with a message that they were gifts from the Rotary Club. A missing 87 year old woman was found in only a few hours thanks to a local Sheriff's canine. Yesterday (November 20), at approximately 11:30 a.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies from the Morongo Basin Station responded to a report of a missing person in the 6500 block of Mojave Avenue in Twentynine Palms. A man with an active warrant in Riverside county was arrested in Landers on suspected weapon and drug possession. On Tuesday (November 19) at around 3 a.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling near the intersection of Old Woman Springs Road and Reche Road in Landers.
