The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department and San Bernardino County Probation conducted a comprehensive drug and weapon search at Yucca Valley High School yesterday (December 2). Tonight's (December 3) regularly scheduled meetings of the Yucca Valley Town Council and the Twentynine Palms Planning Commission have both been cancelled. The Town of Yucca Valley announced that the meeting of the Town Council was cancelled due to a lack of scheduled agenda items. Remembering Barry Inscore

A community standout has passed away and will be greatly missed by good friends at Copper Mountain College and Theatre 29. Barry Robert Inscore, 76, passed away November 21 after a series of medical challenges. He was born April 19, 1948, and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He, along with his first wife, raised six children. After a divorce, Barry met his wife, Cathy, and married her shortly after, they added seven more children. Thanksgiving house fire in Joshua Tree leaves one injured

A house fire on Thanksgiving left one person injured. According to San Bernardino County Fire, they sent three engines to a report of a structure fire off of Mesa Drive in Joshua Tree just before 3 p.m. on November 28. They were joined by an engine from CalFire and an engine from Blackrock.  Crews arrived to find smoke coming from the gable vents, which indicated a working attic fire. Twentynine Palms woman arrested on suspicion of threatening neighbor with machete

On Saturday morning (November 23) just before 12:00 noon, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of threats made at a home in the 6500 block of Persia Avenue in Twentynine Palms. Deputies say that the victim called to report her neighbor, identified as Heather Miller, a 48 year-old resident of Twentynine Palms.
