The Town of Yucca Valley is still accepting inquiries for those interested in running the vacant BMX track. Residents of Pioneertown have received a boil water notice, urging them to boil tap and well water before using it. Bacteria was found yesterday (August 1) in the water in CSA 70 Pioneertown service area. Residents are urged to boil their water before drinking it, or using it to brush teeth or prepare food. Felon found hiding in Landers garage with semi-automatic weapon

A convicted felon was found hiding in a Landers garage and alleged to be in possession of a semi-automatic weapon. On Wednesday (July 31), Sheriff’s Deputies from the Morongo Basin Station served a search warrant in the 4000 block of Artesia Ave in Lander. Deputies say that during the search, they found Shawn Anderson 52, hiding in a garage. Deputies also say they found a loaded, semi-automatic handgun in the garage. Joshua Kaiser sentenced to 24 years in prison for attempted murder

Joshua Kaiser was sentenced last week. The Johnson Valley man was found guilty of charges related to setting fire to a truck with two people inside. On Friday (July 26), a judge with San Bernardino County Superior Court Judge Rasheed Alexander sentenced Kaiser to 24 years in state prison. Kaiser was found guilty of two accounts of attempted murder and two counts of arson causing great bodily injury, and one count of injuring a spouse / girlfriend. Twentynine Palms man arrested on Sunday for violent sexual acts

A man in Twentynine Palms was arrested Sunday (July 28) for rape by force and sexual crimes involving a victim under the age of 14. At 3:45 p.m., Sheriff’s Deputies contacted Nathan Jones, 18, at a residence in the 5000 block of Adobe Road in Twentynine Palms.
