The Twentynine Palms Tourism Business Improvement District meets this afternoon at 3:30 p.m. (August 8) Tasked with increasing tourism and tourism dollars in Twentynine Palms, the TBID meets in regular sessions monthly. An arrest was made in Landers last week by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Gang/Narcotics Division. A convicted felon with an active warrant for investigation into domestic violence and selling drugs was arrested in Desert Hot Springs last week. Olivio Cicero, a volunteer with the Morongo Basin Station’s Explorer Post, was honored with the Dominic Vaca Scholarship by the Latino Peace Officers Association at their Officer Down Memorial Scholarship Award ceremony on Saturday (August 3). Cicero has been a loyal member of the Morongo Basin Station’s Explorer Post program since April of 2019 and continued with the program through the pandemic.
