A teenager on bail for charges related to assault with a deadly weapon was arrested again on suspicion of domestic violence. On Friday (September 20), County Sheriff's deputies from the Morongo Basin Station contacted Rodney Frazier-Goodson, 19, at 4 p.m. near the intersection of Twentynine Palms Highway and Park Blvd in Joshua Tree. Basin Transit Board of Directors meets Thursday (9/26)

Heat illness prevention plans are on the agenda for tomorrow's meeting of the Basin Transit Board of Directors. At the public meeting, the Board will consider adopting safety plans to prevent heat illness and safety procedures regarding sharp objects. They will also discuss a short range transit plan and approve Transportation Assistance Grants. The board meets tomorrow afternoon at 5 p.m. 62405 Verbena Road in Joshua Tree.

Ammo explosions heard during structure fire in Yucca Valley

A structure fire led to to the explosion of live ammunition on Friday morning (September 20) At around 10 a.m., San Bernardino County Fire crews responded to a report off of El Dorado in Yucca Valley. Upon arrival crews found a detached garage that was well involved with fire with an immediate exposure to the main residence which was a duplex. Yucca Valley Trojans and Twentynine Palms Ladycats faced off in Volleyball last night (9/23)

The Morongo Basin's hometown high school girls volleyball teams faced off last night. The Yucca Valley High School Trojans traveled all the way to Twentynine Palms High School for the junior varsity and varsity games. In junior varsity action, the Ladycats bested the Trojans in three with a final score of 25-16,18-25 and 15-10. The varsity Ladycats also took the win over the Trojans, winning in three straight 25-21, 25-22 and 25-9.

A planned hotel in Landers is the subject of a meeting of the Lander Association this evening (September 23).
