Measure Z will reduce Yucca Valley sewer tax bills by nearly half

Yucca Valley sewer users will see a big reduction of their property tax this year, thanks to Measure Z The Hi Desert Water District, which serves Yucca Valley, announced yesterday that property owners in Yucca Valley subject to the Phase 1 Sewer Assessment District number 2014-1 will pay $393.16 instead of the original $706.50 on their 2024/2025 property tax bill thanks to Measure Z (46% savings). The Twentynine Palms Parks and Recreation Department will be receiving free training for youth-sports coaches as part of the Million Coaches Challenge. Twentynine Palms was selected by the National Recreation and Park Association to participate in the program, which provides free online courses to soccer, volleyball, and flag football coaches this fall. Yucca Valley Woman arrested for suspicion of firing gun with gross negligence

A woman was arrested in Landers on Friday for firing a gun with gross negligence. On Friday (September 20) at around 5:30 p.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies with the Morongo Basin station say that Cheryl Carpenter, 60, called 911. Deputies say they responded to the 60500 block of Stearman Rd in Landers, and while they determined that Carpenter fired a gun in a dangerous fashion.
