Theatre 29 is seeking vocalists for “Mis-Cast: Part Deux” at auditions tonight. This is the second summer where singers have a chance to sing a song from a dream role they may never have a chance to perform otherwise. With audition details here’s Rebecca Havely…
If you’ve always wanted to sing a song as “The Music Man” but you’re a woman, or your dream role is “The Tap Dance Kid,” but now you’re a grandpa. Well your dream role may become a reality after all. That’s the theme of “Mis-Cast”—a musical revue fundraiser benefiting the Theatre 29 building expansion fund. Bring a non-vocal backing track on a mobile device to auditions tonight Monday, June 3 at 6 p.m. at Theatre 29. Choose a song that fits the show’s theme or just one that shows off your voice. Director Lisa Goldberg and musical director Scott Clinkscales may cast you to sing the song you present or have you sing another song based on your range. The show will be performed twice; Saturday, June 22, will be a gala event with dinner, auctions and drawings, plus a matinee performance on Sunday, June 23.
