Auditions for Agatha Christie’s white-knuckle murder mystery, “The Mousetrap,” are set at Theatre 29. The classic thriller features a group of strangers stranded in a boarding house, cut off from the outside world by a snowstorm, who soon find out that there is a murderer in their midst. Director Katie Fleischman will cast the murder-mystery thriller “The Mousetrap” at auditions on Monday, August 28, at Theatre 29. Roles to be cast include: Mollie Ralston, proprietor of Monkswell Manor, who’s in her late 20s to early 40s, and is secretive about the unfolding events; Giles Ralston, early 30s to late 40s, Mollie’s loving husband who turns suspicious of her sudden friendship with a guest; Christopher Wren, a hotel guest in his late 20s to early 30s, a hyperactive young man who acts in a very peculiar manner; Mrs. Boyle, age 50-plus, a critical old woman; Major Metcalf, age 40-plus, he’s retired from the Army with a commanding, authoritative presence; Miss Casewell, late 20s to early 30s, a strange, aloof, masculine woman; Mr. Paravicini, in his late 40s to 50s, he speaks with an affected Italian accent; Detective Sergeant Trotter, in his late 20s to 30s, a cheerful young man with a slight cockney accent.
In addition to cold-reading sides from the play, those auditioning will be asked to deliver a memorized monologue of their own choosing, about one minute in length.
