Auditions have been set for “Brighton Beach Memoirs,” the next production of the St. Joseph’s Players’. This coming-of-age story centers on a Polish-Jewish family in Brooklyn, New York, in 1937. Auditions will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 23, at the St. Joseph of Arimathea Church, 56312 Onaga Trail in Yucca Valley. Some parts have already been cast; open roles include Kate and Blanche, for women in their 40s, and Jack, 40s to 50s; along with Lori, age 12 to 14. Director Rebecca Haveley also needs volunteers for light, sound, props, costumes, and other backstage roles. Rehearsals will begin September 2 and the play will open October 10 and run through November 2. For more information, email [email protected].
