Even as the hard-charging volunteers at Theatre 29 get ready to open “The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Town’s Women’s Guild Dramatic Society Murder Mystery” this Friday, they will be holding auditions for their next production Monday. Managing Editor Tami Roleff says five performers are being sought for “Nunset Boulevard”…
Veteran director Kathryn Ferguson has announced auditions will be held for Theatre 29’s spring production, “Nunset Boulevard.” The musical will take the stage for five weeks, beginning April 25 through May 24. “Nunset Boulevard” follows the latest exploits of The Little Sisters of Hoboken, who have been invited to perform at the Hollywood Bowl. They are thrilled at the prospect until they realize they are booked into the Hollywood Bowl-A-Rama — a bowling alley with a cabaret lounge — and not the famed ‘Bowl’ they were expecting. Ferguson needs a cast of five female actresses for this production. Most lead roles require the ability to sing. Please come to audition prepared to sing Broadway music, with either a karaoke tape or professional backing track with no background vocals. Ferguson also needs help in technical roles, such as set builder, costume, and back stage help. Auditions will be Monday, March 3, at 6:30 p.m. at the theater, 73637 Sullivan Road in Twentynine Palms. For more information, visit theatre29.org, or email [email protected]
