AUDITIONS MONDAY FOR “OKLAHOMA” AT THEATRE 29

The big Broadway musical “Oklahoma” will be cast at Theatre 29 auditions. A large cast of singer/dancers is needed. With all the audition details, here’s Rebecca Havely …
Director Charles Harvey seeks a cast of 25 for “Oklahoma.” The cast includes the star-crossed lovers cowboy Curly and farmer’s daughter Laurey; he’s a baritone, she’s a soprano both are between 18-35. Gertie Cummings from the next town over has her eyes on Curly too. Will Parker is a rodeo cowboy/dancer so rope tricks and tap skills are a plus. Ado Annie is a comic romantic lead in love with Ali Hakim, a traveling peddler from Persia. Andrew “Pa” Carnes is Ado’s very protective father. In a “dream ballet” sequence, dancers who resemble Curly and Laurie are also needed. Other featured roles include Laurie’s Aunt Elle; ranch hand Jud Fry; ranch owner Ike Skidmore; and territory Judge Cord Elam; plus a large singing dancing ensemble. Auditions are Monday, January 14 at 6 p.m. at Theatre 29. Come prepared to move and prepare 16 bars of a Broadway show tune and bring a backing track on CD or a mobile device.
