Director Katie Fleischman will cast “The Glass Menagerie” tonight Monday, June 24, at 6 p.m. at Theatre 29. The memory play has four characters: Amanda Wingfield, a proud vivacious woman abandoned by her husband; Her son, Tom, an aspiring poet who supports the family by working in a shoe warehouse; Tom’s acquaintance, Jim O’Connor, who takes an interest in Tom’s sister Laura; and Laura, who wears a leg brace and walks with a limp. She’s painfully shy and socially inept. Actors please prepare a one-minute monologue, you may also be asked to read from provided scripts. “The Glass Menagerie” will run weekends from August 9 to 25.
