The big Broadway musical “Oklahoma” will be cast at Theatre 29 auditions. A large cast of singer/dancers are needed. With all the audition details here’s Rebecca Havely…
Director Charles Harvey seeks a cast of 25 for “Oklahoma”. The star-crossed lovers, cowboy Curly and farmer’s daughter Laurey; he’s a baritone, she’s a soprano both are between 18-35. Gertie Cummings from the next town over, has her eyes on Curly too. Will Parker is a rodeo cowboy/dancer so rope tricks and tap skills are a plus. Ado Annie is a comic romantic lead in love with Ali Hakim a traveling peddler from Persia. Andrew “Pa” Carnes is Ado’s very protective father. In a “dream ballet” sequence dancers who resemble Curly and Laurie are also needed. Other featured roles include Laurie’s Aunt Elle, ranch hand Jud Fry, ranch owner Ike Skidmore and territory Judge Cord Elam, plus a large singing dancing ensemble. Auditions are Monday, January 14 at 6 p.m. at Theatre 29. Come prepared to move and prepare 16 bars of a Broadway show tune and bring a backing track on CD or a mobile device.
