Director Gary Daigneault will cast “Little Shop of Horrors” at Theatre 29 open auditions Monday, August 12 at 6 p.m. The cast of characters includes Mr. Mushnik, the greedy owner of a failing flower shop in New York City. Seymore Krelborn a well-meaning but clumsy and insecure florist’s clerk, with a green thumb. Seymore’s secret love Audrey is an incredibly good-looking bleached blond, with poor self-worth and a strong belt voice. Orin Scrivello is an egotistical dentist; he’s Audrey’s sadistic boyfriend, this actor also plays several bit parts through-out. The man-eating plant named “Audrey 2” is a giant puppet who requires one actor to manipulate it from the inside as well as an off-stage actor/singer with a funky Rhythm and Blues voice. The trio of doo-op singers Crystal, Ronnette and Chiffon are young, hip, street-smart urchins who act as a Greek chorus.
