Theatre 29 open auditions for the comedic musical who-done-it, “The Mystery of Edwin Drood,” are tonight, Monday, April 13, at 6:30 p.m. on the main stage at Theatre 29. Director Charles Harvey is looking to cast 12 to 14 male and 7 to 10 female performers for this production. “The Mystery of Edwin Drood” characters are all part of an acting troupe; they all play a minimum of two characters each. Various English accents are sought as these characters range from Queen’s English to Cockney; a couple of roles require an “East Indian” affectation. Please bring a backing track CD of a musical theater song, no accompanist will be present. Script sides will be provided for cold readings and dress prepared to move. The production is also seeking technical assistance as stagehands, set builders and costume construction. Anyone wishing to participate in these capacities, please also attend auditions.
