AUDITIONS FOR “A CHRISTMAS STORY” AT THEATRE 29 ONE WEEK FROM TODAY

Auditions for Theatre 29’s final show of the season are set. The hit comedy, “A Christmas Story” will be cast by director Eric Ross. Reporter Rebecca Havely has the cast break down…
“A Christmas Story” follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker in his quest to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the tree for Christmas. Director Eric Ross has pre-cast the roles of the Mother, Father, and Teacher, but still has many roles available. They include one adult male: Ralph—the adult version of Ralphie—he’s 20-40, and he narrates the play. Also needed are five boys and two girls. Ralphie Parker is 9 years old, but older boys will be considered; Randy Parker, Ralphie’s little brother; classmates Flick and Schwartz, plus the bully, Scut Farkas; female classmates Esther Jane Alberry and Helen Weathers will also be cast. Come prepared to move, you will be reading from the show’s script. Auditions are Monday, September 19 at 6 p.m. at Theatre 29, 73637 Sullivan Road in Twentynine Palms.
“A Christmas Story” will run weekends from November 18 through December 17. Tickets are from $8 to $15 and are available now on line at theatre29.org or by calling the box office at 760-361-4151.
