AUDIENCES AT HILARIOUS THEATRE 29 MUSICAL COMEDY TO MEET THE AUTHOR

It’s not often that the successful author and lyricist of a musical comedy turns up to meet with the cast, crew, and audience at a small community theater, but that’s what’s happening at Theatre 29 this Saturday. Assignment reporter Mike Lipsitz tells you how to get in on this rare opportunity …
Phil Olson’s “Don’t Hug Me, I’m Pregnant,” opened to rave reviews this month at Theatre 29. It’s one of five in Olson’s hilarious “Don’t Hug Me” series. Director Marty Neider previously staged a “Don’t Hug Me Christmas Carol” here. Within days of the successful opening, the playwright and lyricist contacted Theatre 29 to say he planned to see the local production of “Don’t Hug Me, I’m Pregnant,” this Saturday, May 21, and offered to hold a post-show “Question and Answer” session with the cast, crew and audience. Tickets are still available for this Saturday at 7 p.m. and for performances through June 4. “Don’t Hug Me, I’m Pregnant” is recommended for ages 10 and up. Tickets are $8 to $15; get yours at www.theatre29.org or call the box office at 760-361-4151.
