Attorneys entering the Joshua Tree courthouse will have to be screened for weapons as of June 1. Under current guidelines, attorneys are able to
bypass security measures other visitors must undergo, which include passing through a metal detector and submitting handbags, briefcases, phones and electronic devices, keys, watches, and other loose items for x-ray screening and inspection. Visitors who activate the metal detector must
undergo additional screening. Attorneys must go through screening at several other county courthouses.
