Morongo Basin detectives are investigating an attempted murder and illegal marijuana grow in the Desert Heights area of Twentynine Palms. About 8:51 p.m. Tuesday, deputies found in the 68000 block of Kachina Drive a 46-year-old Moreno Valley man suffering from multiple gunshots. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Deputies determined the shooting happened at a nearby large illegal marijuana grow. A search warrant was served at the location and deputies discovered more than 1,000 marijuana plants.
