ATTEMPTED HOME INVASION ROBBERY IN YUCCA VALLEY

Sheriff’s deputies are searching for two men involved in an attempted home invasion burglary in Yucca Valley Thursday. About 11:40 a.m., a woman called 911 to report that two men came to her front door in the 7500 block of Canyon, and when she didn’t answer, they went around to the back of her house. She told 911 the men had fired a gun to break her sliding glass door, but deputies later determined they had thrown a rock through the window. The woman, who had a baby at home with her, fled to her bedroom, and told dispatchers she could hear the men walking inside her house. The men fled prior to the arrival of deputies, and nothing appears to have been stolen. The men are described as Hispanic, about 6 feet tall, one was wearing a bandana, and one was wearing a white T-shirt. Deputies called in a helicopter to search for the suspects, but it’s believed they got into a vehicle and left the area. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
