ATTEMPTED BURGLARY AT A MORONGO VALLEY HOME DESTROYED BY FIRE

The owners of a Morongo Valley home that was destroyed by fire Tuesday afternoon discovered someone had attempted to burglarize the home. According to investigators, the residents were not home when their home in the 50900 block of Aspen Drive caught on fire about 1:45 p.m. Tuesday. After the fire was out, the owners discovered a small hole in a door going into their garage. The owners locked and secured the door. When the owners returned to the home 8 a.m. Wednesday morning, they discovered the door had been kicked open. The Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
