A select group of three current and aspiring Morongo Basin ballet dancers from Ballet Joshua Tree have been accepted to summer programs for advanced ballet study. Aurora Harris will be attending Anaheim Ballet; Sia Valentine will attend City Ballet of San Diego; and Clara Dunning will attend Ballet Magnificat in Jackson, Mississippi. Candidates for ballet ‘summer intensives,’ where dancers train all day long for several weeks, are selected through an audition process that can include taking rigorous classes in front of judges as well as sending in photos and videos demonstrating their technique.
